ONYX: GAME OVER

Onyx wraps a call with her boyfriend, thanking him for the VR headset as well as the game. She throws on the headset and gets immersed in the virtual world. Equipped with a pistol, Onyx makes her way into the mat room. As she investigates she’s suddenly caught off guard with a shot to the chest that makes her drop her pistol as she drops to her knees. She doubles over, suffering from the chest wound before keeling face down with fluttering eyelids. The camera pans over as she lies defeated and a disembodied voice says it’s “game over”. In her next round, Onyx is caught in a gun battle and manages to suppress her target with a few rounds, but repeated shots to her body lean her against the wall. She catches more shots, sliding her down the wall as her consciousness slips and she’s left sprawled out with her midriff rising and sinking from heavy breaths.

In another life, Onyx stands over her target ready to take them out, but sudden shots pierce her arms before a 3rd sends her collapsing to the mats. Onyx sits up, clutching her arms before the overwhelming sense of pain lays her out for the KO. Her fluttering eyelids gradually hide the whites of her eyes as she fades away and is left deeply breathing. In the next game, Onyx finds herself scrapping with an invisible foe, whiffing strikes until her punch is parried and she’s slammed into the wall. The hard impact has a delayed KO effect that melts Onyx against the wall and leans her over for more heavy breathing.

Onyx awakens with her hands bound behind her back and she rises to a stand. A chloroform mist crosses her face, knocking her senseless as she drops to her knees. Onyx can barely stay upright and a 2nd spray to the face lays her down. A 3rd spray consumes whatever is left leaving her gasping for air. From a first-person perspective, Onyx takes a couple swings to no avail however, body blows and face punches drop her to her knees before she folds forward for the KO. In the next round, Onyx stealthily makes her way in as she clutches her pistol. She’s discovered subdued with a taser shot that flops her backward in spread eagle for convulsions. She wakes up and yanks the prongs out, but is shot again, flops forward, and convulses face down till her movements cease.

The next life sees Onyx completely enervated and ready to be finished by her invisible foe. Face punches spin Onyx around in circles before an uppercut lifts her up and folds her backward. The whites of her eyes show before it’s goodnight and she’s left replenishing oxygen. Onyx makes a second attempt at rushing her opposition and is stopped by an invisible force field that debilitates her and drops her to the mats for a gasping KO. In-game, Onyx finds herself trying to recover and the effects of the VR world have impacted her in the real world. From a 10-second countdown, Onyx can’t find the strength to continue and subsides into a KO in both worlds.
