The size disparity between these two grapplers is obvious as they stand back to back as Mayhem simply TOWERS over Sumiko and that size and power advantage immediately comes into play as Mayhem snatches Sumiko at the start of the match and drills her into the mat with choke slam that knocks Sumiko out cold! That likely could have ended it right there but Mayhem has a sadistic streak and pulls her opponent up for more punishment.
Mayhem continues to brutalize and work over Sumiko, using her size and strength to her full advantage and nearly ending the match with a devastating powerbomb that gains a 9 count but can’t quite put Sumiko away. It seems like the end is near but everyone knows you can’t count out a veteran like Sumiko!
A few key mistakes from Mayhem allow Sumiko to turn the tide of the battle and once she is in charge she goes after her taller opponent with a vengeance! She saps Mayhem’s strength with a Triangle Choke and then goes to work on the giant’s legs, keeping her on the mat and negating that power advantage. From there she makes use of brutal strikes and splashes to the midsection and high impact moves to keep Mayhem dazed and unable to recover.
A picture perfect X Factor puts Mayhem in La La Land and weakens her just enough for Sumiko to use the great equalizer against any taller opponent, a text book Sleeper Hold! Mayhem does her best to hold on but it’s hopeless for her and within seconds our giant has no choice but to take an involuntary nap at the hands of her smaller opponent.
Sumiko is all smiles as she assumes her trademark “split pin” and counts out her pin before assuming a well-earned victory pose!
