With Sapphire’s grand return to the mats, Irene Silver has her chance at sweet, sweet gold as she’s facing SKW’s beloved heel for the title belt. Victory is dictated by a submission or 10-count pin w/ no rules and from their approval, it’s purely war onward. The circle one another as they size each other up, matching wits before the lockup. Irene’s stature gives her the leverage to force Sapphire into the wall and soften her up with a slew of belly punches. A snapmare takes Sapphire to the mats before Irene puts a knee to Sapphire’s back for a seated surfboard. Irene gets satisfaction from seeing the champ groveling and transitions to a rear chinlock as they proceed lashing tongues. Irene maintains pressure with a seated dragon sleeper as she verbally lets Sapphire have it. Sapphire flexes technical skill by forcing Irene’s submission into a reverse headscissor, but she won’t go so easily as she applies a reverse headscissor of her own. The girls tumble around on the mats with their submission locked, jockeying for the advantage, but they break it up and catch a breather as the competition proves to be taxing.

They lock arms again and Irene disables Sapphire with repeated hammerlocks to wrench the arm and shoulder until a third one flips Sapphire on her back. Irene drops into a cross armbar to wear down Sapphire further, but Sapphire’s resolve won’t allow her to tap. Irene releases and Sapphire charges in for another tie up and Irene proves she’s one step ahead by twisting sapphire into a crossface chickenwing. Sapphire capitalizes on Irene’s intimate positioning with a power-out leg sweep and pounces on the fallen Irene with a figure-four leg lock. Sapphire cranks on the leg and urges Irene to give up, but Irene’s hunger for the belt proves strong as she flips the submission upside down as a reversal. Sapphire manages to get enough leverage to flip rightside up and releases the hold and both girls are reeling. Sapphire gets her opportunity at a belly kick and a series of bodyslams to get Irene arching and grunting on the mats.

Sapphire pulls Irene up by the hair who changes momentum with belly punches and her own body slam to put Sapphire down. Irene uses those mile-long legs to perform jumping guillotine leg drops to leave Sapphire weakened and winded, then uses her advantageous position to asphyxiate her prey with a side figure-four headscissor. Irene tries for a single leg hook pin and Sapphire kicks well before the count of 10. A dizzy Sapphire is rocked with a set of face punches and Irene outpaces herself as Sapphire reverses with a hammerlock into an Eat defeet KO. Sapphire goes for her 10-count pin and Irene matches her energy with a kick out as well. A rising Irene is caught off guard with a kick to the stomach allowing Sapphire to cinch a squeezing frontal guillotine choke to leave her limp where she stands. A few good wrenches on the neck ensure Irene is lights out, then Sapphire swings her rightside up for a twitch-inducing falling neckbreaker KO.

Sapphire employs a boston crab with intention to snap Irene in half, but the challenger won’t fold as she outlasts Sapphire’s grip. Irene can barely get it together as Sapphire is right on top of her with a brain scrambling stunner KO. Sapphire goes for another single leg hook pin that’s kicked from even sooner despite Irene’s woozy state. Sapphire goes for the ribs with a lifting bearhug, putting her absolute all into it as Irene wriggles in agony. The contender holds on as best she can, but ultimately goes languid and out on her feet. Sapphire lines up a picture-perfect superkick that sends Irene tumbling and out cold on her face. Sapphire goes for yet another pin, mounting Irene who digs deep to kick before the 10. A second wind grants Irene the strength to reverse a hair lift with belly punching. As Sapphire reels in pain, Irene loudly clasps a hand around her throat, giving her a death stare with shallow and intense breaths. Irene’s intentions are wicked as she presses Sapphire and scoops with a two-handed throat lift. Even Sapphire struggles against Irene’s might as she passes out from the trachea pressure and flops facedown when released. Irene gets a deeply mounted double leg hook pin and Sapphire still has the energy for a kick out.

Irene grows frustrated at Sapphire’s perseverance and punishes her with a standing mandible claw that remains locked as the ladies hit the mats. Irene maintains a deep clench beneath the tongue as Sapphire writhes with her eyes rolled back till it’s goodnight. Irene makes an attempt at a crossbody pin however, the champ powers out before it’s too late. Irene’s fury grows as she can’t seem to put Sapphire away and gets another rough grasp around Sapphire’s throat. The leggy amazon powers Sapphire into the air and flat on the mats with a chokeslam. Sapphire remains conscious, but can’t resist Irene’s impending tombstone piledriver KO. Irene lies across Sapphire and hooks the leg once more for another chance at victory and she’s met with a 9-count as Sapphire just won’t quit. The war between the amazons rages on as one pulls out the stops for a huge reversal leading into a massive KO, bringing the match to a decisive finish as one of them is declared the SKW champion!

Irene panics as she knows what it’s time for and Sapphire sends her whiplashing with a sapphire bomb KO. The twitches signal the end of Irene’s run as Sapphire desperately mounts for a winded, photo finish 10-count pin. The ladies lie fatigued with the champ reveling in victory as the runner-up shouts in frustration. What usually results in a final victory pose is then altered as Irene’s valiant effort has Sapphire paying her respects as the pair embrace one another. They celebrate a hard-fought match and hobble back to the locker room from yet another legendary title defense match for the SKW champ.
